The three-day workshop ‘Kathakku Pinnil’ which was held from March 7 to 9 at Gokulam Park Hotel, Ernakulam, has concluded. The work shop was conducted as a tribute to the late screenwriter and director Dennis Joseph. ‘Kathakku Pinnil’ was inaugurated by actress Manju Warrier.

“As long as you have intelligence, you must keep learning cinema,” said filmmaker Basil Joseph at the closing ceremony of Kathakku Pinnil. The three-day screenwriting and directing workshop was organized by the FEFKA Writers’ Union in collaboration with Luminar Film Academy. Basil Joseph also distributed certificates to the participants.


Organized by the FEFKA Writers’ Union, Kathakku Pinnil aimed to empower and instill confidence in the new generation of filmmakers entering the industry. The event featured masterclasses by renowned filmmakers and screenwriters, including Saabu John, B. Unnikrishnan, Sanjay, A.K. Sajan, Aju C. Narayanan, Lijo Jose Pellissery, Shyam Pushkaran, Tarun Murthy, Jofin T. Chacko, Vidhu Vincent, Joju George, Anoop Menon, and Anna Ben.


The closing ceremony was attended by notable directors and writers such as B. Unnikrishnan, Jinu Abraham, Jose Thomas, Balachandran Chullikkad, Benny P. Nayarambalam, and Vidhu Vincent. The event also saw participation from Luminar Film Academy directors Jiju P. Mathews and Abhilash C.C.
