Kalki 2898 AD: Anna Ben reveals that Nag Ashwin wanted a ‘likeable face’ to play Kyra

Prabhas starrer ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ helmed by Nag Aswhin is running successfully in the cinemas. Each character in the film is being discussed about. Actress Anna Ben, who played an extended cameo in the film is also receiving much love from the audience. She has now revealed how the director cast her in the role.

Anna Ben, who played the role of Kyra revealed that the director Nag Ashwin wanted a ‘likeable face’ for the character.

In a recent interview with Cinema Express, she stated that she asked director Nag Ashwin why he approached her for the role, and he told her that it is one of his favourite characters in the film and that he wanted a likeable face for it.

Nag Ashwin had watched most of Anna Ben’s films and identified that aspect in her earlier roles.


Meanwhile, Anna Ben recently stated that the dystopic sci-fi film is undoubtedly a milestone in her career. In a note shared on Instagram, she said, “When Kyra came to me two years ago I was genuinely excited to try out something entirely new so I jumped at the opportunity but little did I know that this was going to be a milestone in my career. All thanks to this wonderful man @nag_ashwin who casually just made the most massive movie in Indian cinema and @vyjayanthimovies for making me part of this big family. I remember asking Nagi sir, how he is always so relaxed because in the two years I have worked I have never seen him off track or losing it. The man is so zen it’s hard not to get inspired. His vision and curiosity has paved the way for a new age cinema. It was truly an honour working with you sir. I’m so grateful for what you have give me and trusting me to be Kyra amidst few of the biggest names in India.”
