Actor Kalabhavan Mani, who picks up diverse roles in films, will be seen in a white and white garb in his next outing. In Johnson Esthappan’s film titled
Duffedar, Mani plays the protagonist.
The family drama will see the actor in different get-ups. Speaking about the plot of the film, the director says, “Kalabhavan Mani plays the role of Ayyappan, who is a court keeper.
He retires from service but is emotionally attached to his uniform. He is not ready to give away his uniform post retirement too.”
Actress Ananya is reportedly roped in to play a nurse in the film.
Duffedar also captures the retirement and old age problems faced by the character. “Ayyappan finds his identity lost in the uniform and is not ready to let go of his uniform. He continues to wear it and leaves for the Collector’s office every day and helps the needy. Mani is a good actor and this is a performance-oriented role,” says Johnson.
The movie is expected to go on floors on September 10 at Irinjalakuda.
