Joy Mathew condemns suicide of farmer

The trade unions should answer for it, he writes
The recent suicide of a famer from Chembanodu has sent shock waves across the State, prompting many to react. Actor and director Joy Mathew has condemned the incident in a strongly worded facebook post. "The Revenue Department is one of the departments which sees maximum corruption," he writes. "They know how to take maximum advantage of someone who is urgently in need of their services. Either they squeeze the maximum bribes out of you or they make you run around endlessly, probably to deal with their petty insecurities and inferiority complexes."

"Even if they get caught, he says, trade unions and political parties will come to their rescue. There is no trade union which can make bring a corrupt officer to book. Like in a tea shop, a government office should have on display a list of the amounts of bribe collected by its officers. Things will be easier then, it will feel like the ruling government is with us, and will prevent further martyrs like Joy."
