“‘48 hours’ is as gripping as the title sounds,” shares Jeevan MV in an exclusive conversation with

ETimes

.

The upcoming film features Rahul Madhav, Lukman, Neha Saxena, and Soumya Menon in the lead roles, and speaking about the film, the director shared, “Our film is a medical thriller. ‘48 hours’ has a gripping and fresh story to tell. The film is a medical thriller revolving around the

Bombay blood group

.”

The Bombay blood group is a rare blood type, which was first discovered in 1952 in Mumbai (then Bombay). The Bombay blood group or the ‘hh’ blood group do not express H antigen and hence cannot produce either antigen A or B. The phenotype is found in 1 of 10,000 individuals in India and 1 in a million people in Europe, which makes it rare in India and rarest globally. And the most crucial part is during the blood transfusion as people with the particular phenotype cannot receive blood from any other groups.

“Our film has made use of the same crucial point. '48 hours' travels through the life of a couple who had a love marriage. Everything goes by the book until the wife is rushed to the hospital for childbirth, after having a complication. The couple discovers about the rare blood group during the time and searching for blood donors forms the crux of the story,” Jeevan said, giving an introduction to the film they are about to present.

He emphasized that the film will be a gripping watch. “I am sure that ‘48 hours’ will give the audience an edge-of-the-seat experience. Every moment in the film is intense, filled with suspense and we have worked on the factors that would keep the audience hooked to the silver screen,” he added.

Actors Jagadeesh, Indrans, Joy Mathew, Sreejith Ravi, TG Ravi, Neha Saxena, and Neena Kurup have roped in to play some pivotal roles in the film.

The team has mostly completed the first schedule of the film by last month (April). Director Jeevan MV shared that the team is planning to resume the shoot, once the government gives a nod.
