It’s been a while since
Jayasurya has done a film, but it seems he was waiting to come back with a bang! His upcoming movie, aptly titled
Thrissur Pooram
, will have him playing a mass action hero named
Round Jayan
.
The movie, which is directed by Rajesh Mohanan, is scripted by music director
Ratheesh Vega
.
Vijay Babu, who is backing the film and will also be starring in it, tells us, “The film will have Jayasurya playing a larger-than-life character akin to Mammukka’s and Lalettan’s roles in the 90s. The film will have ‘mass’ action and it’s after a long time that Jayan is doing such a role.”
The movie has been structured similar to the various phases of the annual temple festival such as kodiyettam, ilanjitharamelam, vedikettu et al, says Vijay.
The team will hold an audition in Thrissur to select its cast members. “We want to rope in talent so that the characters appear authentic and gel into the plot,” he says. The film will also have Bigg Boss winner Sabumon Abdusamad in a pivotal role.
