Police officer-turned-scenarist
Shahi Kabir, whose previous films like Joseph and Nayattu were appreciated for their gripping content, is back with yet another screenplay, which is to be directed by newbie Ravisankar.
Titled Writer, the film has
Jayasurya in the lead and is expected to start rolling in a few months. The announcement poster of the film features a broken Kerala government file, wrapped with holy threads and infested with lizards. Quiz Shahi on the same and he says, with a smile, “Jayasurya plays the title character for sure, but we can’t divulge more details on what kind of writer is being referred to in the poster at the moment, as all of that is a suspense now. We have finished the script, and are planning to start with the shoot in September. Though we haven’t finalised the exact locations, we will be shooting mostly in Kerala.”
The writer says that it isn’t easy to specify the genre of the movie, but hints that it can be termed a ‘mixed genre film.’ He adds, “It is a mix of many genres... family drama, thriller and the like. There might be a few portions in the film that may look like they are based on real-life incidents , but this will be a fictional story.”
