After ‘Njan Marykutty,’
Jayasurya and
Ranjith Sankar are all set to work together again.
In the new film, titled ‘
Sunny,’ Jayasurya plays the eponymous character who is a musician. The shoot of the film will start on Thursday in Kochi, and it would be the 100th film of actor Jayasurya.
Ranjith tells us more about the film, “Sunny is a musical and it is a movie following a new concept.
It also has a whole new pattern and we would start shooting the film following strict Covid – 19 protocols, at a prominent hotel in Kochi. The whole crew is also staying there as we shoot and we are planning a one-month schedule.” Music director Shankar Sharma, who has earlier worked in films like ‘Darwinte Parinamam,’ is the composer of ‘Sunny.’
Interestingly, Jayasurya has been preparing to look the part for the past few months. Ranjith says, “He has been growing a beard as part of the character look. He is a contemporary musician in the film.” The film, which has Kochi as its major location, will also be shot in Dubai.
Madhu Neelakantan is the cinematographer of the film, which has Shameer Muhammad as editor. The film, which will be shot on sync sound, will have Sinoy Joseph, who has worked on Bollywood films like ‘Pink,’ ‘Piku’ and ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ as the sound designer.
Ranjith Sankar and Jayasurya have earlier worked together on projects like ‘Punyalan Agarbathis,’ ‘Punyalan Private Ltd,’ ‘Su Su Sudhi Vathmeekam’ and ‘Pretham.’ Jayasurya also has the films ‘Turbo Peter’ and ‘Vellam’ coming up.
