Director Jayaraj and composer Jassie Gift, the legendary combo behind the sensational hit Lajjavathi, are reuniting after 20 years for the new Malayalam film ‘Shanthamee Raathriyil’.
The film is slated for release on May 9 and has already sparked excitement among fans of the veteran filmmaker who has delivered several classics.
A tale of love, music, and nostalgia
‘Shanthamee Raathriyil’ is described as a romantic drama that weaves together the sensibilities of present-day love and friendship with the essence of vintage romance. True to Jayaraj’s signature style, the film places a strong emphasis on music. Lyricists Kaithapram, Rafeeq Ahammed, and Joy Thamannam have penned the songs, while Jassie Gift composes the soundtrack, promising a nostalgic yet fresh musical experience for audiences.
Star-studded cast and technical brilliance
Backed by New Generation Cinema, the film is produced by a strong team including Jayaraj, Roald Thomas, James Valiyaparambil, Sunil Zacharia, Suresh Iype, George Kuruvilla, Joby Jose, and Savio Jose.
Cinematography is jointly handled by Naveen Joseph Sebastian and Vignesh Vyas (UK), while editing is by Sooraj E S. The film also boasts top-notch contributions in production design by Subhash Karun, sound by Vinod P Sivaraman, and costume design by Kumar Edappal. The makeup is done by Ratheesh Ambadi, and the film’s promotional stills are captured by Sampath Narayanan.
The film features a diverse ensemble cast, with Esther Anil, Sidharth Bharathan, Kailash, Maala Parvathi, and Viji Venkatesh in prominent roles.
