Janani to pair up with M-Town biggies
Janani Iyer is on a roll. It is not often that a new entry into the industry gets to act with four top stars back to back. Though her entry with Three Dots was not much noticed, Janani bagged her next film, Koothara, with none other than Mohanlal. From then, there was no looking back.
After Edison Photos starring Nivin Pauly and 7th Day starring Prithviraj, the actress has now been signed for Ajith Pillai’s Mosayile Kuthirameenukal, to be shot in Lakshadweep.

But the actress is rather nonchalant about it. “I feel lucky, of course; I never expected such a windfall. But what excites me more is that I get to play totally different characters in all these films. I play a typical Calicut Muslim girl named Noor in Koothara. In Edison photos, on the other hand, I play a Tulu Brahmin girl, while in 7th Day, I’m an out-and-out Christian,” she says.
Interestingly, she is romantically paired with all the actors except Mohanlal. “But it was during the shoot of Koothara that I go all the other offers,” she adds.
In Mosayile Kuthirameenukal, Janani will be seen playing a Malayali girl named Beena, who moves from Kochi to Lakshadweep to work in the Postal Department. “I can’t say much about the story or my role, except that I feel the audience will love my character, which is that of a cute girl liked by all. I was interested in the script right from the beginning and was hoping that dates wouldn’t clash. Luckily, everything fell in place.”
Meanwhile in Tamil, the actress is awaiting the release of a couple of films, including Thegidi.
