Jan.E. Man director Chidambaram’s next is based on real life

Chidambaram’s bro comedy Jan. E. Man got people to sit up and notice this debut director, so his next, Manjummel Boys, will definitely come with the weight of anticipation. The film, based on a real life incident, about friendship, fun and adventure.

Elaborating on the story, Chidambaram says, “A group of 11 friends set out on a journey in the early 2000s and what happens during the trip is what the movie is about.”

Sreenath Bhasi, Soubin Shahir, Chidambaram’s brother Ganapathi, Jean Lal, Khalidh Rahman and Arun Kurian are part of the massive cast of the movie. The film was mostly shot in Kodaikanal, Palani and Ernakulam. The music is by Sushin Shyam and cinematographer is Shyju Khalid.

"It will be a ‘first of its kind’ movie in our industry. Such films were not possible before because of the limitations in our industry. But now we are growing and have more resources to deliver a story like this. The fact that it's a real incident is what inspired me to do it. It was a long process for me and spanned two years. The film is very different from Jan.E.Man and is on a bigger scale ,” he adds. The makers are currently thinking of releasing the film in other Indian languages too.
