Jagathy Sreekumar, who used to work in movies in the 1970s, made his debut with 'Kanyakumari.' He gained acceptance with his next, 'Chattambi Kalyani,' in which he played one of the leads named Pappu. That movie gave him an opportunity to exhibit his talent and go on to star in a long list of successful movies.
The actor made headlines in 2012 when he met with an accident and had to undergo several surgeries which affected his speech and his ability to recognize people. However, his son has confirmed that his condition has improved greatly and has regained his memory.
