Jagathy Sreekumar enjoys Kaithapram’s song during award ceremony

The legendary Malayalam actor Jagathy Sreekumar recently experienced a touching moment of camaraderie with renowned lyricist Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri. This heartwarming interaction took place during the presentation of an award instituted in memory of Unnikrishnan Namboothiri, often revered as the beloved grandfather of Malayalam cinema.


Kaithapram, known for his poetic brilliance, sang a few lines in the presence of Jagathy, creating a rare and emotional moment. As Kaithapram crooned, Jagathy, visibly delighted, tapped along to the rhythm, enchanting the audience present at the ceremony.


In the video, Kaithapram is seen singing the song 'Manikya Vennayumayen,' while Jagathy Sreekumar enjoys the performance.

The award, which included a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a beautifully crafted statuette designed by artist Unni Kaanayi, was presented to Jagathy by Local Self-Governments Minister MB Rajesh. The ceremony, held at Jagathy Sreekumar’s residence, was a fitting tribute to both the celebrated actor and the memory of Unnikrishnan Namboothiri.

On the work front, Jagathy Sreekumar was last seen in the Mammootty starrer ‘CBI:5- The Brain’. Jagathy made a cameo appearance in K Madhu’s directorial, which turned out to be one of the pivotal moments in the film.

Meanwhile, Jagathy will be next seen in the role of Professor Ambili in the upcoming film ‘Vala’ which is touted to be a zombie movie. The makers shared the character look poster for the actor and penned a note that read, “The maestro of comedy is back !! Happy Birthday to the legendary Jagathy Sreekumar.
