Jackie Shroff’s role in Ottu is a crucial one, says director Fellini

Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff is all set to do a Malayalam film, yet again. The actor, who debuted in the industry in 2007 through the film Athisayan, will next be seen in Theevandi fame director T P

. Its shoot started in Goa a few days ago and the film has Kunchacko Boban and Arvind Swami in major roles.

Director Fellini tells us, “Jackie Shroff’s role in the film is a very crucial one. But I can’t reveal anything more about his character or other details, at the moment. He will be joining our shoot in Goa in some time.”

At the same time, the director tells us that he approached the actor through one of his friends named Shaneem, who had also helped him get in touch with Arvind Swami. “We met with Jackie Shroff in Mumbai and he came across as a very chill, down-to-earth person without any hangups. As soon as we gave him the narration, he liked the part and committed to the project immediately,” Fellini says.

Earlier, we had reported that Telugu actress Easha Rebba will be debuting in Malayalam through the bilingual, and she had hinted her makeover for the movie would be quite different from the other roles she has done so far. Fellini had also told us that Ottu is a road movie. “It revolves around two friends and their bond. The story happens between Mangalore and Mumbai,” he had told us.
