It’s over! Lissy announces separation from Priyadarshan

When the news about director Priyadarshan and his wife Lissy heading for splitsville made the rounds earlier this year, they were quick to clear the air saying that all they had was a small fight over accounts and serials.
However, in the recently released press statement, the former actress confirms that the couple has decided to call it quits.
“It is with profound sadness that I am announcing that Sri Priyadarshan and I have decided to separate after 24 years of marriage.I have filed for divorce in Chennai family court. Our children and close friends are aware of this decision,” Lissy says in the release. She goes on to add that the family is going through a tough time and requests for privacy. While speculations about what landed them in troubled waters range from CCL disputes to special friendships, the couple is maintaining a dignified silence over the issue.
When we sought Priyadarshan’s reaction, all he said was: “Please respect our privacy.”
Around February, Lissy had told Kochi Times that a report in The Times of India is what made them sort out their issues and settle the differences. She had also revealed that a person pretending to be their friend is the one who misled them about each other. However, it looks like the couple could not really bury their differences.
