'Thuramukham' is based on the 'Chappa' system, a primitive 'work guarantee' scheme practiced in Cochin harbour during the 1950s. According to the system, copper coins known as 'Chappa' would be thrown at the workers waiting for a job and whoever manages to get one would be hired for a day’s job. The sketched first look poster portrayed the system and received a huge response from the audience.

Helmed by cinematographer turned director Rajeev Ravi, 'Thuramukham' is scripted by Gopan Chidambaram. Sukumar Thekkepat is backing the project. With the shoot being wrapped up, the film is expected to hit the screens soon.
