It'll be tough for me to do a campus film now: Vineeth
Vineeth Sreenivasan's movies have always struck a chord with the youth ' be it his debut directorial Malarvaadi Arts Club or Thattathin Marayathu. However, the actor-director admits that presently it would be tough for him to make a campus tale relevant to today's youth.
'When I joined college, students were just beginning to use mobile phones. By the time I graduated, social networking sites had only gained entry into our lives.

But now, everything happens through these technologies,' says Vineeth.
The Jacobinte Swargarajyam director goes on to explain that as the mode of communication differs, the relationships between people too change. 'For instance, every decade there was a change in the way two youngsters in love communicated. During my college days we didn't speak the way people in 90s spoke. Similarly, the nature of friendships between students right now is different from my days. When I was in college, we never used to hang out with like-minded people. But now people with same tastes and sensibilities fraternise. So, there's a lot you have to factor in while making a movie about the current youth,' says Vineeth.
The actor says that these are also a few of the reasons why the actor, who is closely associated with debutant director Ganesh Raj's Aanandham, decided to be part of it. 'When I read Ganesh's script, I thought it was really fresh. He has fleshed out all those details that make it easier for those studying in professional colleges in Kerala to relate to. It's not an easy screenplay to write. It's tough for someone of my age to think how and what a 19-year-old will talk especially in the current campus scenario,' he explains.
Meanwhile, Vineeth has also started work on his next acting venture titled Aby. Its director Srikant Murali earlier told us that the film will an inspiring tale of a differently-abled boy. 'The movie presents the whole disability angle in a positive light,' says Vineeth, who is shooting for the movie in Idukki.
