Directed by Raja Ram, the film is a political satire titled Veera, which has actor Krishna as the male protagonist. Iswarya speaks about her role, 'I play a bold, modern girl named Renuka. Hailing from North Chennai, my character completes education from Ooty.' The film, which is expected to start rolling by the end of March, has Iswarya playing the daughter of a don, says the film's director. 'The political atmosphere in North Chennai is often turbulent and so her character is bold just like the other girls of this region. But since she is exposed to the modern world, she is quite trendy too and wears mostly western outfits. Also, families of dons generally have their kids studying in foreign countries or places like Ooty. In the movie, Iswarya's character gets into the thick of things only after about 20 years, as she was away for her studies.'
The movie is titled after Krishna's character Veeramuthu, who aspires to be the leader of a political outfit. 'While it is a political satire, there will be enough of comedy and action too woven into the plot,' says the director. The film's shoot will begin in Chennai by the end of March.
