Is Mohanlal’s ‘Barroz’ release pushed to THIS date?

Mohanlal's much-anticipated directorial debut ‘Barroz’ may face yet another delay, with reports suggesting that the film's release has been postponed from September 12, 2024, to October 10. Fans who have been eagerly awaiting the fantasy adventure film might have to wait a little longer, as the release date seems to be not fixed yet.

‘Barroz’, which completed production and post-production by September 2022, was initially slated for a March 2023 release. However, the film's release has been repeatedly delayed, with a March 28, 2024, date set earlier this year, only for it to be postponed again to September. According to Sreedhar Pillai, the latest reports indicate that the film might now hit theaters in October 2024, though an official confirmation from the makers is still awaited.

Reportedly, compounding the delay is a legal issue that has surfaced, potentially impacting the film's scheduled release. George Thundiparambil, a German-based Malayali writer, has filed a legal notice against the makers of Barroz, including Mohanlal, alleging copyright infringement. This legal dispute may have contributed to the decision to push the release date back once again.

Despite these challenges, fans can look forward to a special trailer for Barroz, which is reportedly set to be unveiled during an event in Abu Dhabi on September 6.
