Irshad takes a break from cop roles in Dulquer’s next

Actor Irshad had become synonymous with cop roles in Mollywood by enacting back-to-back police characters in six of his movies including Oozham and Kasaba. So much that the actor himself admits, “People identify me as a policeman often and tell me that I should be inducted into the Kerala Police as an honourary cop.”

However, his next outing in Sathyan Anthikad’s Dulquer Salmaan starrer

Jomonte Suvisheshangal

will have him bucking the trend.
“I play a chartered accountant named Joshy Joseph in the movie and it’s also the first time I am working with Sathyan sir,” he says. “My character is that of Dulquer’s aliyan and Mukesh ettan’s son-in- law. He handles the family’s financial dealings. He is a typical Thrissurkaran executive.”
Interestingly, the actor, who is also from Thrissur, will play another Thrissurkaran in Asif Ali’s Thrissivaperoor Kliptham.

“My character Bahuleyan in the movie is that of a rowdy. His wife works abroad and he lives with the money she sends. Both the roles are diametrically opposite and the only thing common is the Thrissur slang,” he says.
