Director R Sarath, who has made the movie, says he is happy the film is finally releasing after various difficulties. 'Just like Chaplin's life, the movie is a mix of tears and laughter, not a comedy. Indraguptan's personal life and Chaplin's turn out to be tragically similar. Indraguptan too grew up amidst struggles, after his father leaves the family early in life. He doesn't know who his dad is but keeps getting letters from him, saying he can see him growing. But he becomes the laughing stock as the father never arrives. Finally he meets his father, but not in a situation he imagines. It is here that Buddha becomes relevant,' he says. 'I'm happy to say that a Chaplin museum in Switzerland has kept this movie as a permanent exhibit there,' he adds.
The film also stars Praveena, Nedumudi Venu and Amrita Anil in major characters.
