Police officer roles seem to be a top favourite among Mollywood stars these days, especially the Sukumaran siblings. After his impressive act as a corrupt cop, Vattu Jayan, in Arun Kumar Aravind’s
Left Right Left, Indrajith will be seen donning the role of a police officer again in debutant V S Visakh’s
Masala Republic. His brother Prithviraj’s recent hit,
Memories, and Hindi release,
Aurangazeb, were also police stories.
“Indrajith will play the central character in the movie. The film is a social satire with a mix of comedy. We are planning to shoot it mainly in Perumbavoor, Aluva and Ernakulam,” says Visakh.
Vinayakan will also play an important character in
Masala Republic. The other cast members include Shritha Sivadas, Srinda Ashab, Balachandran Chullikkadu, Vinay Forrt, Captain Raju, Mamookkoya, Tinu and Soubin.
Indrajith’s memorable police roles are as the villainous Eappen Pappichi in Lal Jose’s Dileep-starrer
Meesa Madhavan, and a professional cop, Anand, in Police.
