Lijo Jose Pellisserys Disco will see Indrajith and scriptwriter-turned actor Shanker Ramakrishnan sharing screenspace for the first time Films based on friendship have always had a loyal fan following in Mollywood. Needless to say, buddy flicks work well at the BO too. Looks like director Lijo Jose Pellisserys next,
Disco, will add one more to the buddy league, with actor Indrajith and script-writer turned actor Shanker Ramakrishnan playing the lead.
Lijo, who has carved a niche for himself with experimental flicks such as
Nayakan and
City of God, says that while the title might have a retro air about it, the film will not be a 70s period flick. It will be an out n out funky film. Most of the shoot will be in and around Goa, says Lijo, adding that the film will go on floors by March next year.
Interestingly, Disco will be the fourth consecutive film that Lijo and Indrajith will be teaming up for. However, the duos next project will be Amen, which has Indrajith playing a priest. Besides Indrajith and Shanker, Disco will have an ensemble cast. It's not a hero-centric film and the story revolves around many characters who are important to the plot, Lijo explains.
Although the film is shaping up interestingly, the director says that his current plan, however, is to concentrate on Amen, which boasts of a versatile cast including
Fahadh Faasil and Swati Reddy of
Subramaniapuram fame.
