I’m getting better roles from K'Wood: Muktha
Muktha aka Bhanu has given impressive performances in Tamil and Malayalam. However, the actress says that she is getting better roles from the Tamil film industry of late. In her next film in Tamil, Sagunthalavin Kadhalan, she plays the title character, that of Sagunthala. “It can be termed as a completely heroine-centric film, which is raw and realistic in treatment. Sagunthala is a nurse who has to stay at Chennai for a while before moving to Dubai. She is just like any other girl we see around us in our daily life, with a small bindi and kajal in her eyes. Honestly, I am equally excited and tensed to etch her on screen,” says Muktha, adding that her experience in the film industry has made her more mature as a person.
“Initially I was under the impression that only the lead heroine’s role is of importance. But my character of a cancer patient Jennifer in Lal Jose’s Immanuel made me realise that those notions are wrong. Though it was a cameo with just three scenes, the role won me a lot of applause. Now I am trying to balance both character and lead roles.” Muktha will next be seen in Kollywood in Vasuvum Saravananum Onnaa Padichavanka and Paambhu Sattai. In Malayalam, the actress’ next is Sukhamayirikkatte, directed by T A Razzaq, in which she plays daughter to Siddique’s character.
