‘Idiyan Chandhu’ box office collections day 7: Action film mints Rs 52 lakhs

The Vishnu Unnikrishnan starrer ‘Idiyan Chandhu’ continues to struggle at the box office, with its collections going down as days go by.

On its seventh day, the film managed to add only Rs 2 lakhs to its total from the Kerala Box Office (KBO), bringing the overall worldwide collection to Rs 52 lakhs.

According to the Sacnilk website, the India Net collections stand at Rs 46 lakhs, with day 7 contributing a mere Rs 2 lakhs, a drop from the Rs 3 lakhs earned on day 6.

‘Idiyan Chandhu’ explores the life of Chandu, a young boy whose early years were marred by severe trauma. He witnessed his mother being abused by his father, and the subsequent murder of his father by a gang of criminals only deepened his emotional scars. As he grew up, Chandu’s anguish and rage were continually stoked by the society around him, pushing him towards a path of violence as a means to cope with his inner turmoil.

Directed by Sreejith Vijayan and written by him as well, ‘Idiyan Chandhu’ features Vishnu Unnikrishnan in the lead role, supported by Salim Kumar and other notable actors. Despite its intense storyline and powerful performances, the movie has struggled to make a significant impact at the box office.

The film's performance is particularly disappointing considering the anticipation surrounding Vishnu Unnikrishnan's first complete action flick.

As the box office figures continue to decline, it remains to be seen if ‘Idiyan Chandhu’ can pick up momentum in the coming days, especially during the weekends.
