Sangeeth Sivan revealed that he received a message on social media from an unknown source on May 21 and he was surprised watching the pictures.

Taking to his social media handle, the filmmaker wrote, “I travelled 28 years back after opening the message. The message had pictures that were taken during the filming of ‘Yodha’. The moments when we celebrated Lal sir’s birthday on the set. Unforgettable moments. Although it was Mohanlal’s birthday I received the gifts. Thanks to our assistant director Gopinath for the surprise.”

The movie told the story of two cousins Ashokan and Appukuttan, in the backdrop of Buddhist monks and their rituals. Mohanlal essayed Thaipparambil Ashokan and Jagathy Sreekumar played, Appukuttan, who is always jealous of Ashokan. The entertainer had a well-crafted narrative, compelling performances as well as magnificent visuals. Sangeeth’s brother Santhosh Sivan was the lensman for the movie.

Sangeeth Sivan has also directed Mohanlal in movies like 'Gandharvam' and 'Nirnayam'. The filmmaker has also directed Hindi movies including 'Click', 'Kyaa Kool Hai Hum', and 'Yamla Pagla Deewana 2' among others.
