'Hridayapoorvam' box office collections day 18: Mohanlal's film at Rs 36.34 crores; 'Lokah' buzz affects the run

Mohanlal’s family entertainer 'Hridayapoorvam' had a decent opening but is finding it hard to hold ground at the box office as Kalyani Priyadarshan's superhero film 'Lokah' is getting all the attention even from the family audiences.

As reported by the Sacnilk website, in 18 days, the film has collected Rs 36.43 crore in India. On its third Sunday, the film brought in Rs 1.24 crore (early estimates).

Weekend push not enough for the Mohanlal starrer

Although Mohanlal and Sathyan Anthikad's collaboration after a huge gap, was expected to soar the interest among the family audiences, the weekend numbers show a different result.

Reportedly, the film managed to maintain a steady flow in its first week, raking in Rs 20 crore, and added another Rs 13.4 crore in the second week. The third weekend brought some relief with Rs 99 lakhs on Saturday and Rs 1.24 crore on Sunday. Despite this, the collections remain modest for a Mohanlal starrer.

'Lokah' wave takes spotlight

Kalyani Priyadarshan’s Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra, which is currently ruling the box office with over Rs 119 crore, has diverted much of the audience's attention. 'Hridayapoorvam' has received decent reviews from the audiences. Even though the first half was impressive, according to the Twitter reviews, the second half of 'Hridayapoorvam' failed to impress the majority.

With Malavika Mohanan, Sangeeth Prathap, Sangita Madhavan Nair, and Siddique in key roles alongside Mohanlal, the film is expected to hold a steady ground at the box office as there are no big releases ahead.
