Lal Jose penned an emotional note remembering late cinematographer Ramachandra Babu, who passed away on December 21 at the age of 72. Lal Jose took to social media and wrote, “Babu Chettan used to speak with his eyes. His smile following a take meant retake. But if he removed his specs it meant 'Take Okay'.”
Fondly remembering the days when he had collaborated with the cinematographer, Lal Jose wrote, "He is a man of few words."

Ramachandra Babu was one of the pioneers of Malayalam cinema and was also at the forefront of technological advancement made by the Malayalam movie industry.

Ramachandra Babu has worked with several veteran filmmakers like Ramu Kariatl Bharathan, Hariharan, K G George and MT Vasudeva Nair. His noted movies include 'Padayotttam (1982)', which was the first Malayalam 70 mm feature film. He had also worked on 'Agraharathil Kazhuthai, which won the National Award for the Best Tamil Film. He had also worked on Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Arabic and English language films.
