Heroine-centric films don't intimidate me: Hemanth

Actor Hemanth Menon, whose next after Chattakkari, is also a female-oriented flick says he is not intimidated by heroine centric films
Heroine-centric films don't intimidate me: Hemanth
His biggest outing yet in Mollywood, 'Chattakkari', is a heroine-centric film, featuring an actress who has earned name and fame in all four industries down south. But actor Hemanth Menon is hardly worried if he'll get his fair share playing the hero overshadowed by the heroine. And even as he's awaiting the release of his big release, the actor is now shooting for 'Thomson Villa' which, again, is said to have the heroine steal the limelight.

'The last thing I'm worried about is whether I'll get my due in any film I'm working on,' Hemanth argues his side. 'Actress Shamna Kasim, who plays the central character, Julie, in 'Chattakkari', is no doubt, an acclaimed actress down south. But I don't think it's fair to say that she steals my show! The role I play in the remake of the yesteryear flick is crucial to taking the story forward. As long as my character is pivotal to the plot, I'll continue taking up such projects.'
Which is why, his next, 'Thomson Villa', will see him work on yet another film that gives prominence to the female lead, played by Ananya. 'The film's storyline and Dennis Joseph's script were tempting enough to be a part of it than worrying about the duration of my role in it. In fact, though I play the hero, my character doesn't appear in every other scene,' says Hemanth, adding, 'But it hardly matters. My last release, 'Ordinary', had me only in a handful of scenes but how significant the character's presence is in the flick, is evident.'
However, Sunil Ibrahim's 'Chapters' will free him from the lover boy image, what with Hemanth playing the 'angry young man' in it. 'And what more, my character, Anwar, doesn't even have a heroine,' he laughs. 'The film will be an all-new experience to M-Town with its new-age narrative and offbeat treatment.'
