On the title of the film, Bibin, who had worked as an editor in films such as Oru Murai Vanthu Parthaaya and 101 Chodyangal, said, “Aaha Neeloor is one of the most popular tug-of-war teams in Kerala. The team was formed in the 90s and for about 15 years, they have been on top of the game. In the 2008 season, out of the 73 games, they won a record 72. So, their team was the inspiration for the movie.”
