Prime Minister
Narendra Modi urged social media users on the last day to change their profile pictures to the Indian national flag as part of ‘Azad Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ programme to mark the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence. As an initial step, Modi changed his profile picture to the Indian national flag and now several Mollywood celebs seem to be following the Prime Minister’s path.
Mohanlal took to his official Facebook handle and changed his profile picture to Indian National flag and penned a note that read, “Celebrating 75th year of Indian Independence.” Even though several people have praised the legendary actor's decision to change the profile pic, there is a small section who is trolling him by saying that merely changing his profile pic doesn’t make one a true patriot.
Legendary actor
Mammootty took to his official Facebook handle to change his profile pic to the Indian National flag as part of PM Modi’s request to upload ‘tricolour’ as a profile picture between August 2 and 15.
Mollywood's young and talented actor Unni Mukundan also followed PM Modi’s path as he took to his official Facebook handle to change his profile picture to the Indian National flag. Changing the profile picture, the ‘Meppadiyan’ actor penned, “Celebrating 75th year of Indian Independence.”
Suresh Gopi who is basking in the glory of the success of his recent thriller film ‘Paappan’ also changed his Facebook profile picture to ‘tricolour’ and penned the hashtags ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’, ‘75 years of independence’, and ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ along with it.
Meanwhile, PM Modi noted during his Mann Ki Baat radio broadcast that a special campaign ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ will be organized between August 13 and 15. Also, several political leaders along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah have also updated their profile pictures with ‘tricolour’ flag.
