Janapriya Nayakan Dileep is celebrating his birthday today. The actor-producer is turning 54 years old today. Dileep who began his career in showbiz as an impressionist later ventured into movies as an assistant director and went on to become one of the most promising actors in M-Town. Being an impressionist and comedian, the genre of comedy was not new to Dileep. And ‘Punjabi House’ helmed by Rafi Mecartin is a movie that underlined Dileep’s impeccable talent to portray comedy onscreen. Dileep essayed the role of Unnikrishnan, who decides to end his life as he has heaps of debt he had taken for his several business ventures. Dileep and Harisree Ashokan’s combination has always resulted in blockbuster films and ‘Punjabi House’ is no different. The cult comedy will leave you glued to the screens and is worth revisiting.

Dileep stepped into the shoes of Unnikrishnan, a young man, who is left with a wrecked bus, after his dad’s death in a road accident. The bus is so wrecked that each and every individual part of it including the steering comes out. Dileep and Harisree Ashokan played friends in the film and the movie is a thorough entertainer.

John Antony’s directorial ‘CID Moosa’ featured Dileep as Moolamkuzhiyil Sahadevan, a young man who aspires of becoming a cop, as his father was a police constable. Although Sahadevan didn’t become a cop, he decided to pursue a similar career by becoming a private detective. Sahadevan and his dog and their encounter with some odd situations and luck forms the crux of the film. The movie too is a gripping watch filled with comedy.

Madhavan, played by Dileep, is a thief. He is a petty thief, who has a heart of gold. Directed by Lal Jose, the film featured Dileep, Kavya Madhavan, Jagathy, Cochin Haneefa, Harisree Ashokan, Sukumari, Karthika, and Indrajith Sukumaran in lead roles. The movie is a delight to watch and has some soulful songs and ‘Meesa Madhavan’ also has one of the best performances from Dileep.

Priyadarshan and Dileep joined hands in 2004 for the film Vettam. Dileep plays Gopi, a small-time thief, who then steals a luxe necklace from a museum, which belongs to the Spanish Queen and the police are suspecting Gopi. In his attempt to deliver the necklace to a dealer, Gopi meets Veena (Bhavna Pani), and the events that follow form the crux. Priyadarshan has used his magic wand in the film and it is filled with chucklesome moments, emotions, and beautiful songs. You can thank us later!
