‘Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil’ director Vipin Das reunites with Prithviraj Sukumaran for his next

After the successful run of the comedy-drama ‘Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil’, director Vipin Das is set to collaborate once again with Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran for an upcoming project. The duo, who garnered much acclaim for their previous venture, are now planning a new film that promises to blend genres and bring fresh elements to the table.

Talking to The Cue Studio, Vipin Das revealed that this new project will straddle the genres of his films ‘Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey’ and ‘Vaazha’ (Writer). Unlike the commercial style of ‘Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil’, this film will be more aligned with Vipin Das’s signature approach, emphasizing authenticity and unique storytelling. The director also shared that Prithviraj personally requested a film in this style, expressing his desire to work on a project that reflects Vipin Das’s true creative process.

"Prithviraj told me he loves to work in a film under my process, unlike ‘Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil’, which was more commercial. He said that he needs a movie in my style with more authenticity, and he would love to do that,” Vipin Das mentioned during the interview. This upcoming film will feature a fresh cast, with Prithviraj taking on the lead role, promising a departure from conventional commercial cinema and a return to more nuanced, character-driven narratives.

In addition to this exciting collaboration, Vipin Das also hinted at another major project in the pipeline. He revealed plans to team up with Fahadh Faasil for a film scheduled to begin next year. The movie will also feature the prominent Tamil actor SJ Suryah in a significant role.
