Gopika, Jayaram to team up again

The actress will play Jayaram���s wife in her comeback movie ���Akku Akbar���s Bharya Athra Pora
Actress Gopika, who was last seen in director Akku Akbar���s Verutheyalla Bharya four years ago, is making a comeback to the silver screen. She will play the lead opposite actor Jayaram in the same director���s upcoming film, Bharya Athra Pora.
���I was about to return to Australia with my husband and kid when Akku told me about the film.I didn���t have to sit down and think too much when I heard the script. In fact, it was my husband who encouraged me to do the film. We heard the story together and he told me I should give it a shot,��� says Gopika.
The film is about men who get bored with their wives once they hit their 40s, the director tells us. ���It is a universal problem and not something associated with Malayali men alone. The husband in the film is one such person ��� a school teacher, who suddenly feels bored with his life and wife, and gets fascinated by the young generation and new trends,��� says Akku. ���He starts learning computers and signs up on social networking sites. Gradually, problems arise in his married life. The man is also an alcoholic and starts losing the respect that he has as a teacher.���
Gopika, who plays the wife, says, ���I play a banker, who is furious at her husband���s wayward ways. She keeps reminding him of the future of their young son, but to no avail.���
The shoot for the film has started and Gopika, who takes her two-year-old daughter to the set, says she feels quite comfortable acting again since it is a team that she is familiar with. However, the actress has no plans to take up more projects; at least, not for now. ���I���ll be flying back to Australia as soon as the shoot is over,��� she says.
