Get Set Baby - Title Track
Despite the limited opening, the film has received positive word of mouth, especially for its lighthearted storytelling and Unni Mukundan’s performance in a refreshing role.
ETimes gave a rating of 3 out of 5 for the Unni Mukundan starrer. Our review reads, “Animation plays a strong visual role, both at the beginning and in the end credits. Unni is charming as Arjun, effectively portraying the shifts in his character, though some dialogues feel slightly awkward. Nikhila, for a change, gets to play a cheerful role, smiling more than usual, and she handles it with poise. The supporting cast does a great job elevating the story, despite a few misses.
Light-hearted jokes are sprinkled throughout, working in some places but falling flat in others. A random Tovino Thomas reference is thrown in, earning a chuckle.”
The film’s supporting cast includes Nikhila Vimal, Chemban Vinod Jose, Surabhi Lakshmi, Johny Antony, Sudheesh, Dinesh Prabhakar, Meera Vasudevan, Bhagath Manuel, and Jewel Mary. The screenplay was penned by Y. V. Rajesh and Anoop Ravindran.
While ‘Get Set Baby’ started on a slow note, its family-friendly theme and strong performances may help it sustain itself in the coming days, especially during the weekends.
