’s distinct Thrissur accent is something that sets her apart from the rest of the actresses in M-Town. But now, the actress is trying a different turf altogether as she becomes the next Malayali artiste to step into Tollywood.

, in which Naveen Chandra plays the male lead. The director tells us more about her character, “Her character is named Siri, and she has completed her MBA and is searching for a job. She hails from an affluent family and is very much a modern girl, who is active on social media and is tech savvy,” he says. Interestingly, Siri is also a trouble-monger. “She puts her head into every other problem out there, like those on social media and lands up in one mess after the other,” Karthik explains.

The director says that the actress was picked for the role for her homely looks. “The character needs to make people empathetic and Gayathri has the skill to generate that feeling in the viewers. She is also doing extremely well with her Telugu lines and I hear her attempting every other sentence on the set in Telugu,” he says. The first schedule of the film is over and the second will start on the first of August.

The title of the movie will be released on August 15.
