Gauthami Nair opens up about her divorce from Srinath Rajendran: It was mutual

Actor Gauthami Nair has opened up about her separation from filmmaker Srinath Rajendran for the first time. The duo entered wedlock in 2017, and in a recent interview, Gauthami Nair divulged that they have parted ways. Gauthami Nair shared that it has been a while since the divorce, however, since their wedding too was a hush-hush affair of sorts, there wasn’t a need to talk about the divorce in public either.

The ‘Diamond Necklace’ actress shared that after some time, their perspectives and ideologies about life started to mismatch, and hence decided to part ways. She also stated that her separation from Srinath Rajendran wasn’t messy at all and they are still friends, who check on each other. She also added that there is nothing dramatic about their divorce, like one watches in the movies. “It was mutual,” Gauthami said, and also added that there was zero drama, fighting, or argument involved while parting ways.

The actress also opened up about taking therapy during the time, to sort of adjust to the process, and figure out what to do next.

She went on to add that there weren’t any problems as such in marriage, however, when after a point, their ideologies started to differ and weren’t able to find a balance, they decided to part ways. “We tried to see if we can find a fine balance somewhere, but for that, either one of us has to compromise. And we didn't want anybody to compromise in such a way that you end up pointing fingers at each other after some time,” Gauthami said.

Gauthami Nair and Srinath Rajendran have worked together in both their debut film ‘Second Show’, which the latter directed. After years of courtship, they entered wedlock in 2017, however, have now parted ways.
