The majority of the audience has a genuine liking for over-the-top action films. Even with plot deficiencies, films that come under such genre are certainly fun to watch while munching on that cheese popcorn at the theatres. Coming to the Malayalam film industry, complete action entertainers are something that it lacks, and seeing the success of other language films like ‘KGF’, ‘RRR’, and ‘Vikram’, Malayalam directors seem to be trying to fill up that void in the coming years. Sequel (or prequel) to the superhit Prithviraj Sukumaran’s directorial film ‘Lucifer’, ‘L2: Empuraan’ has a high level of anticipation from the audience. Netizens are even calling it Mollywood's answer to the other industry biggies such as ‘RRR’, and ‘KGF’. The film will soon start rolling as the writer Murali Gopy shared an update recently saying that the scripting works of the film are almost complete.

Prithviraj Sukumaran is all set to team up with the hitmaker for the upcoming action entertainer ‘Kaduva’. Prithviraj Sukumaran will be playing a fierce character named Kaduvakkunnel Kuruvachan in the film. Recently the makers announced the release date of the film which is scheduled for June 30 this year.

‘Jana Gana Mana’ director Dijo Jose Antony will be teaming up with Tovino Thomas for an action film named ‘Pallichattambi’. According to sources, the film is mounted on a large scale and the writer S Suresh Babu reportedly said that the film will be a complete mass entertainer.

After the superhit gangster drama ‘Big B’, the audience has been craving the second cooking of Mammootty as the character Bilal John Kurishingal and the director Amal Neerad has confirmed that its next installment will arrive soon and the film is tentatively titled ‘Bilal’. Amal Neerad also reportedly said that the film will be a complete action entertainer and also he said that he makes films for his audience to enjoy and not to satisfy a bunch of intellectuals.

After a series of romantic, comedy films, the director Omar Lulu is back with a complete action entertainer starring the yesteryear superstar Babu Antony in lead role. Omar Lulu reportedly said that ‘Power Star’ will be a complete entertainer where the audience can see the vintage stylish mannerisms and looks of Babu Antony. ‘Power Star’ is scripted by the late veteran writer Dennis Joseph.
