The year is about to end and the last week saw a lot of action in Mollywood. From 66th Yamaha Fascino Filmfare Awards South to stars celebrating Christmas – here’s taking a look at all that happened this week.
66th Yamaha Fascino Filmfare Awards South

The 66th Yamaha Fascino Filmfare Awards South were conducted this week and Joju George bagged the Best Actor award for 'Joseph', while Manju Warrier won the Best Actress honour for her performance in 'Aami'.'Sudani from Nigeria' won in the Best Film (Malayalam) category and Lijo Jose Pellissery was award the Best Director honour for his film 'Ee Ma Yau'. Saniya Iyappan bagged the best debutant actress award for her performance in 'Queen'.
Cinematographer Ramachandra Babu passed away

Veteran cinematographer Ramachandra Babu passed away on December 21. The lensman, who graduated from FTII – Pune, has been active in showbiz since 1971. His notable works include 'Nirmalyam', 'Dweepu', 'Rathinirvedham', 'Nidra', 'Ghazal', 'Padayottam' and ‘Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha’ among others.
Mollywood's Christmas bash

Christmas was indeed special for several M-Town celebs. Newbie dad Kunchacko Boban celebrated Christmas with his wife Priya and son Izahaak. While Dileep also celebrated the occasion with much enthusiasm. He celebrated it with the little munchkin and their pictures went viral on the internet for all the right reasons.
Joju George receives a special mention at the National Film Awards

Joju George attended the National Film Awards and received a special mention for his performance in 'Joseph'. Savithri Sreedharan received a special mention for her performance in 'Sudani from Nigeria' and the same film was selected as the best Malayalam film, however, the team boycotted the event, as a protest against Citizenship Amendment Act. Vignesh Bangalan bagged the Best Production Design Award for Dileep starrer 'Kammara Sambhavam'. Late MJ Radhakrishnan was honoured with Best Cinematography award for 'Olu', which his wife received on his behalf.
New projects

On the day of Christmas, many interesting projects were announced. Kunchacko Boban is teaming up with Johnpaul George for 'Mariyam Tailors'. Jayasurya has signed up for 'Aposthalan'. Joju George also announced his next production venture 'Insha Allah' which will be helmed by 'June' director Ahammed Khabeer. Lal Jr also announced his next titled 'Tsunami'
