Friends release films on same day

It's a well known fact among the industry folks that directors Diphan and Padmakumar are thick friends. And ironically, both their highly anticipated films, Hero and Thiruvambady Thampan, respectively, are releasing on the same day.
For various reasons, the release of the two films was getting postponed for some weeks but finally, both released simultaneously. While Hero stars Prithviraj and is an action thriller, 'Thiruvambady Thampan', starring Jayaram, Haripriya and Tamil actor Kishore revolves around revenge and family feuds.A few years back, there was a similar scenario where Diphan released his debut 'Puthiya Mugham' starring Prithviraj and around the same time Padmakumar released Shikaar with Mohanlal.
Later, the duo also embarked on a joint directorial venture - London Dreams- which hasn't taken off yet.Lets's wait and watch which film will fare better.
