‘Forensic’ director Akhil Paul’s mother Lilly Paul passes away

Malayalam filmmaker Akhil Paul’s mother Lilly Paul passed away. She was battling cancer and was under treatment for the same. A retired school teacher, Lilly Paul breathed last at her residence in Bangalore. The funeral will be held at the St. Joseph’s Church, Iritty, on Tuesday, October 22.

The ‘Forensic’ director himself has taken to his social media handle and shared about his mother’s death. In a note shared on Instagram, the director said, “Our mother Mrs. Lilly Paul has passed away at her home in Bangalore. A retired school teacher and loving mother, she was a brave soul who fought against her cancer ailments for the past one year. We will bring her to our home in Iritty by tonight and you may visit to pay respects until 11 AM Tomorrow morning. The funeral will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, Iritty tomorrow at 11:30 AM. Akhil Paul, best known for directing Tovino Thomas starrer ‘Forensic’ is currently working on the post-production of his upcoming Malayalam film ‘Identity’ featuring Tovino Thomas and Trisha Krishnan. The upcoming film is co-directed by Akhil Paul’s ‘Forensic’ partner Anas Khan. The upcoming film also has Mandira Bedi in a crucial role. The team wrapped up the shoot a few months ago, and the post-production work is progressing. Touted to be an investigating thriller, the upcoming film might hit the theatres by the end of this year. The makers are yet to announce the release date.
