Omar Lulu, who is best known for his films ‘Happy Weddings’ and ‘Oru Adaar Love’ is turning music director with ‘Power Star’. He will also be handing the background music for the film.

Featuring Babu Antony in the lead role, ‘Power Star’ also has actors Abu Salim, Riyaz Khan, Shalu Rahim and Aamir Niaz in some pivotal roles.

Interestingly, ‘Power Star’ also marks the last script from eminent screenwriter Dennis Joseph. The late scenarist has delivered several blockbusters in the past including ‘Nirakkoottu’, ‘Kottayam Kunjachan’, ‘No. 20 Madras Mail, ‘Nair Saab’ and it won’t be wrong to say that he was the only person who should be thanked for the box office success of the films in Mollywood released between 1980s and 90s. He has helped many A-listers including Mammootty and Mohanlal in their superstardom.

In an earlier interview with ETimes, Omar Lulu said, “I haven’t done a mass entertainer yet and it was my biggest dream to embark on my journey with the genre through him. Pramod Pappan (filmmaker) chettan helped me to approach Dennis sir. They have worked together in ‘Thaskaraveeran’ and ‘Vajram’. So, while meeting Dennis sir, I shared a couple of my ideas, but he wasn’t positive about whether it would work with actor Babu Antony. And one day a piece of news related to drugs came in and we decided to develop a story around it. Dennis sir was very much excited and that’s how we began scripting for ‘Power Star’.”
