Filmmaker Aashiq Abu turns cinematographer with ‘Haagar’!
Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!
‘Haagar’ will feature Rima Kallingal and Sharaf U Dheen in lead roles. Harshad, the screenwriter of Mammootty starrer‘Unda’ will be helming the project. Also, Aashiq Abu and Rima Kallingal’s home production banner OPM cinemas is backing the project.
The screenplay of the movie will be crafted by Harshad and Rajesh Ravi. Saiju Sreedharan will be editing the movie. Yakzon and Neha will be handling the music department of the film. Mushin Parari is in charge of the lyrics. The movie will go on floors by July 5 in Kochi and the team will start filming following all the health protocols.
Meanwhile, Aashiq Abu’s last project was ‘Virus’, a medical thriller based on the Nipah virus outbreak that happened back in 2018 in Kerala. The movie crossed all language barriers and was celebrated across the nation for its captivating storytelling and stupendous performances.
Also, sources suggest that Aashiq Abu will be directing the Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan soon. It is said that Shah Rukh was impressed after watching ‘Virus’ and invited Aashiq Abu to his Mannat home. Reports are rife that the movie will go on floors by the end of the year.

Has the reporter seen Aashiq Abu directed films? Mostly he steals from another language. His best happens to be ‘22 Female Kottayam’, the plot has elements borrowed from multiple films including ‘Ek Hasina Thi’ and ‘I Spit on Your Grave’.<br/>It may be just coincidental, Contagion, an American thriller film (the year 2011) directed by Steven Soderbergh concerns the spread of a virus, same like his film Virus.Read allPost comment
