Film producer Manu Padmanabhan Nair passes away during his bus journey

Malayalam film producer Manu Padmanabhan Nair passed away on Monday, December 2. Reportedly, Manu Padmanabhan collapsed and died during his bus journey from Coimbatore to Palakkad.


According to Kerala Kaumudi reports, Manu Padmanabhan Nair was rushed to the hospital immediately once he collapsed during his bus journey. Despite all the efforts, the producer passed away in Palakkad. Reportedly the body is now taken to his residence in Kottayam.


On the professional front, Manu had bankrolled several superhit Malayalam movies such as ‘Vellam,’ ‘Kooman,’ and many others. Manu has been part of both commercial and drama movies, which turned out to be successful ventures.

Manu Padmanabhan’s first production venture was the thriller film ‘10 Kalpanakal,’ which starred Meera Jasmine in the lead as the character named Shazia Akbar. The movie, which was directed by Don Max and scripted by Sangeeth Jain, Shins K Jose, and Don Max, also featured the actors Anoop Menon, Shebin Benson, Prashant Narayanan, Ritika Badiani, Joju George, and several others in pivotal roles.


Manu’s second production venture was the critically acclaimed Jayasurya starrer ‘Vellam,’ which was directed by Prajeesh Sen and scripted by Shamsudheen Kuttoth, Prajesh Sen, and Vijesh Viswam. The story of ‘Vellam’ revolved around an alcoholic and his success journey once he leaves his bad habits. The Jayasurya starrer received positive reviews from both critics and the audiences and also turned out to be a superhit.

The third production venture of Manu was the Asif Ali-starrer investigative thriller ‘Kooman.’ Directed by the hitmaker Jeethu Joseph, ‘Kooman’ turned out to be a profitable venture and marked Asif Ali’s comeback.

Reportedly, Manu has an upcoming project in the pipeline, named ‘Whine.’ The film is touted to be a thriller that is directed by Saheer Abbas and scripted by Amalnath. The movie features the actors Anumol and Angel Shijoy in the lead.
