Fahadh Faasil’s Varathan is running to packed houses since its release on September 20. The movie, which is directed by
Amal Neerad, has Fahadh playing a Dubai-based IT professional who is forced to confront real-world issues after coming with his wife to live at the latter’s plantation estate in Kerala.
In a recent interview to a national daily, the actor had revealed what prompted him to sign the project. He said that Varathan means an outsider and someone who is born and brought up in Kerala becomes an outsider once he leaves home. Fahadh also revealed that this has happened to him as well when he returned from US and things around him had changed.
The movie is produced by his wife Nazriya and Amal Neerad, and is scripted by Sharfu and Suhas.
