Shine Tom Chacko is headlining the upcoming film titled ‘Vichithram’ helmed by debutant Achu Vijayan. The makers have launched the title poster today, and it has caught the public eye for its newness. In an exclusive conversation with ETimes, debutant Achu Vijayan spills the beans on ‘Vichithram’.
Though ‘Vichithram’ marks Achu Vijayan’s maiden directorial, he is no stranger to the film industry. Achu Vijayan has been working in the industry for nearly a decade as an editor, and has associated with a handful of Malayalam and Tamil films including Mammootty starrer ‘White’, and Bharath starrer ‘Simba’.
As the title of the movie suggests, the poster too looks unique and unusual, and speaking about the same the newbie director shares, “In the past 10 years, I have closely associated with several movies, and I know most of the poster designers in person. Since our film is all things
Vichithram (strange), we wanted a poster that resonated with it. In fact, I asked all of the designers I know to design a poster, and Anas Rashad’s design caught my eye. I think the typography and every element on it embody the idea we want to communicate.”
‘Vichithram’ also has an unusual and exciting bunch of actors joining hands. Shine Tom Chacko, Kani Kusruti, Balu Varghese, Lal, Jolly Chirayath, and Ketaki Narayan are playing the lead roles.
Achu Vijayan asserts that ‘Vichithram’ is a thriller, “Set in Thrissur, our film is a crime mystery thriller. The film revolves around a football-savvy family consisting of a mother, and her five children. Shine Tom Chacko is playing the eldest son Jackson, while Balu Varghese, newcomer Vishnu, and two twin newbies will be playing the other siblings. Their father, who was a football coach, passed away a while ago. The film unravels the crime that took place a while ago. There is no police investigation involved, but the crime is unwinded with time.”
The team has completed filming a couple of schedules in Thrissur, Munnar, and Kochi.
