One Twitter user expressed frustration, writing, “No posters, no trailer, no interviews, no promotional events, and not a single update… Just 14 days left for Mollywood’s biggest film.”

However, another user reassured fans, stating, “#Empuraan all issues are sorted out & a trailer launch will be there. Planning somewhere outside Kerala. No change in release date, March 27, 2025.”

Addressing the film’s pre-release anticipation, a comment read, “#Empuraan crossing all hurdles to make it happen on March 27. Once again, a well-made trailer is more than enough to pump the hype. In most centers, fan shows remain sold out already, and fans are doing it at ground level to add more screens and give a grand entry to #Mohanlal. Hope.”

Meanwhile, reports of a dispute between Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions have also surfaced, potentially affecting promotional activities. A user explained, “There is a clear dispute… regarding the distribution and business of #Empuraan. Despite multiple discussions, Lyca has declined Aashirvad’s terms, prompting Aashirvad to attempt Lyca’s removal from the project. Lyca has expressed willingness to exit but expects Aashirvad to settle its investment of approximately ₹75 crores, plus an additional ₹10 crores. The uncertainty surrounding Lyca’s involvement has even put the release of official posters on hold!!! Negotiations are ongoing to resolve the issues amicably, with hopes for a swift resolution to this crisis at the earliest.”

Highlighting content over promotions, another user remarked, “Promotion alone won’t guarantee success; it only helps with the initial gross. #2018 & #manjummelboys crossed 200Cr because of content and audience acceptance. If an L-starrer gets a positive response, it can reach Mollywood’s peak. Even #Neru, a courtroom drama, made Rs 90Cr!”
