Elephant scared Parvathy more than camera
Ever since Ranjith announced his film Leela, an adaptation of Unni R's short story, it has been arousing curiosity among movie buffs, because of its climax.
The sequence will see its titular character Leela standing naked against an elephant to fulfil the sexual fantasies of its protagonist
'I was thrilled to shoot for the climax scene as it is the most crucial part of the film, which the entire Malayali audience is eagerly waiting for. The shoot was in Wayanad and the elephant named Vishnu had huge tusks. Even though I was prepared to shoot the scenes with the tusker, when I saw him, I became really nervous. It was the first time I saw an elephant that close. However, I took it as a challenge and everybody in the set encouraged me to interact with the tusker. I touched him, spoke to him and eventually, my fear turned into affection. I became comfortable and from his reactions, I guessed he too liked me.'
After winding up the shots, Ranjith apparently congratulated Parvathy on doing the scene so well. 'He asked me how I managed to do it so well and I was really happy!' says the actress. However she tells us that she cannot share anything more about the climax scene, since it would be a spoiler.
The movie stars Biju Menon as Kuttiyappan. Vijayaraghavan, Indrans, and Jagadeesh play other important roles.
