'Drishyam 3' director Jeethu Joseph reveals release window: 'We are coming before the Hindi version'

Happy news for 'Drishyam' fans as the third part which has Mohanlal in the lead and is directed by Jeethu Joseph, is officially set for completion with its post-production work going on. The director Jeethu Joseph has finally confirmed that the film will be released in theatres much sooner than expected.



Speaking at the South Unbound event, Jeethu Joseph revealed, “The post-production is currently on. We should release the film in the next three to four months. The good thing is, we are coming before the Hindi version.”

Viral chat about the release plans

Earlier a screenshot of an alleged chat between Jeethu Joseph and a fan has been spreading across social media. In the chat, a user asks, “Just heard Panorama Studios acquired theatrical rights of our Drishyam 3.... So sir are they planning for a simultaneous release.”


Jeethu is seen replying, “No.. we will release first after 2 months only they can release.”


Now, with the Malayalam version arriving before the Ajay Devgn starrer, the Kerala audiences are quite happy as they get to watch the original version first before moving on to the remake version. Also the first two parts of the Hindi remake of 'Drishyam' have mixed reactions from the Malayali audiences as majority says that the original film always stands out.

Emotional moments after the final shot

A few days ago, the makers officially announced the completion of the shoot by sharing a behind-the-scenes location video taken shortly after the final shot was okayed. In the clip, Mohanlal’s reaction became the highlight as the actor flashes a relieved yet warm smile the moment Jeethu Joseph confirms that the shot is approved. Mohanlal's charm was visible in the video.


What follows is a heartwarming sequence where Mohanlal hugs producer Antony Perumbavoor and then embraces Jeethu Joseph.


'Drishyam 3' is expected to bring closure to the story of Georgekutty who is the middle-class cable operator who has spent years outsmarting the police to protect his family. Although there were several doubts on whether the sequel will work, Jeethu Joseph smartly crafted an engaging narrative with 'Drishyam 2'. Audiences are expecting the same magic with 'Drishyam 3'.
