‘Dominic and the ladies’ purse’ box office collections day 12: Mammootty’s investigative drama mints 7 lakhs

Gautham Vasudev Menon's Malayalam directorial debut ‘Dominic and the ladies’ purse’ is earning modest numbers at the box office despite positive reviews. The film, heavily featuring Mammootty, is experiencing a steady decline in daily earnings. Etimes rated it 3 out of 5, appreciating its engaging storytelling, light-hearted interactions, and wry humor, though noting some parts could have been trimmed.

Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Malayalam directorial debut film ‘Dominic and the ladies’ purse’ is minting only decent numbers at the box office despite magnificent reviews from the audiences.

According the the early estimates by the Sacnilk website, ‘Dominic and the ladies’ purse’ has collected only Rs 7 lakhs on day 12 from Kerala, and the 12 days of KBO collections for the investigative comedy-drama movie amount to Rs 8.72 crores. The movie has collected Rs 17.5 crore worldwide, the India gross collections stand at Rs 9.4 crore and the overseas collections are Rs 8.1 crore.

Coming back to the KBO collections, the film started its downfall from day 5 onwards where it minted only Rs 45 lakhs followed by Rs 43 lakhs, Rs 37 lakhs, Rs 25 lakhs, Rs 17 lakhs, Rs 27 lakhs, Rs 31 lakhs, and Rs 7 lakhs. Going by the day-wise collections, there is a fear of whether the movie will be able to hold many screens in the coming days.
Etimes gave a rating of 3 out of 5 and our exclusive review reads, “Dominic and the Ladies Purse is more of a Mammootty one-man show, in a good way. It is a little different from your regular Gautham Vasudev Menon film but there is a style to the storytelling and there are those seemingly trivial things that add a special charm to the film. For an investigation story, while it keeps you guessing for a while, the first half is mostly focussed on the light hearted interactions and the gradual progress of the investigation. There is much to know, much to figure out and some wry humour to appreciate along the way. Neeraj and Sooraj Rajan along with Gautham have kept the Mammootty's mystery investigation film engaging. There are some parts that could have been trimmed to make this more exciting.”
